Most of us are in the same boat, dear heart. Two months ago, I was anticipating the upset of having my sole shower gone for up to 10 working days while the bathroom went through much-needed, long-delayed renovation. So there was a shape to my future to readjust for. Then two weeks before work starts, my younger son shows up. He's broken up with a woman he's being living with (whom I adore) for the past two years. His life's a shambles and he has this wonderful but quite large dog to share responsibility. He doesn't have a full-time job, has some health issues that the VA is handling with glacial speed, and is drinking too much.
The shape of the future is like that.
You are so brave! Just stick to living in the moment, day to day, being strong, trusting this amazing decision you have made to complete your transition. It's no surprise the future is so troublesome to picture. That's it's nature even for those of us who live rather quiet lives!
