doushkasmum and I went looking at houses today. In and of itself perhaps not such a big deal, but when you do so with the express purpose of actually selecting one to purchase, the whole thing becomes much more intersting. For us, at any rate. We looked in Yarraville today. There was one which was okish except for the remarkable degree to which it needs restumping. The thing that makes it attractive is that with medium extensive fettling it could damn near double its value which would put us into a *much* more intersting section of the real estate market. Note that I am NOT interested in a perpetual cycle of renovation, but it's a bit tempting with this one. The other one had a great location. Other than that it didn't really have any redeeming qualities whatsoever. We will not be buying that one.
