All you need to do is listen and be supportive. No-one wants anyone to go through what so many women have gone through, including other women. And sure, there is a commonality to that gendered experience, but each case is also different. And a LOT of women are also in denial, and respond with things like, 'well it hasn't happened to me', or 'did that really happen?'. So, the sisterhood is a complex thing, which you know, because not all women experience oppression in the same way, just as not all men are privileged by it in the same way. And trust me, you'll experience discrimination. And at least you'll be aware of what it is, unlike so many of us who had no idea why we were being treated differently (depending on how and when we were raised), sometimes not until much later in life when we came across the theories that could explain it.
