It appears that some of the reading I'm doing is starting to take hold. I picked up Laura's old Old English textbook at the start of this week as it seemed to be the way my interests are leading me. I've not read that much of it yet as it's the sort of thing where one reads a little and thinks a lot but I flipped it open at random today for some reason and started reading some prose in OE. I both managed to extract the bulk of the meaning from the short section I read and recognise it as an extract from Ælfric's Colloquy. I am pleased with myself.
