Moving right along

I've been working as an acting team leader this week. I'm loving the role but have been a little disappointed that it's only for the one week. I've just been told that we're creating a new team in the contact centre and the team leader who manages this team will be taking over them, leaving me here in the hot seat for the time being. I am extra super mega pleased at this; I'm enjoying this work even more than I expected. Most pleased.

This was something that I'd barely thought of, to be honest. I was much more focussed on getting to play with that role and having some interesting challenging work. Having said that, the person who is my usual team leader and I had a couple of drinks after work (most pleasant way to celebrate) and he told me that once I've been in a secondment for more than two weeks the higher pay scale applies. So the one week gig would have been at my usual pay scale but the way things are going I'll get the higher rate which should be quite noticeable. A nice thing.
